What is radiofrequency microneedling?
Radiofrequency microneedling delivers energy through the tip of a needle to a set depth in the skin. In Türkiye it is widely called the gold needle, after the coating of the needles.
How is RF microneedling different from standard microneedling?
The difference from microneedling is the energy. Microneedling leaves only a mechanical stimulus. Here, radiofrequency energy is released from the needle tip and controlled heat forms in the deeper layer.
The surface is spared; the work happens in the deeper layer. Because the needle releases energy only at the chosen depth, the top layer stays largely intact. Recovery therefore runs differently from some surface treatments.

Can I fly on the same day after radiofrequency microneedling?

In someone whose acne is still active, the acne itself is brought under control first, and scar treatment is planned afterwards. The first step for scars is to prevent new ones from forming. For pitted scars, different procedures are used, such as laser, peels and radiofrequency microneedling. Which one is suitable depends on the type and depth of the scar and is decided at the consultation.
Does squeezing pimples leave scars?
Yes, squeezing a pimple increases the risk of scarring. When it is squeezed, the inflammation can be pushed deeper and the surrounding tissue is damaged. A brown mark lasts longer, and the chance of a pitted scar rises. Pressure with the nails also damages the wall of the pore. This is why the first step of scar treatment is preventing new scars.
