Is laser treatment a single device?
"Laser" is a heading that groups several devices. Each device works at a particular wavelength, and that wavelength attaches to a particular target in the skin. That is why the device for pigmentation is not the same as the device for redness and visible vessels.
Which laser is used for which concern?
- Fractional laser treats the skin in tiny dots and leaves the healthy tissue between them untouched. As the surface renews, healing starts from that healthy tissue. It is used for acne scars and uneven texture.
- BBL laser uses a range of wavelengths rather than one. It targets uneven colour on the surface, sun spots and redness.
- Q-switched lasers work with very short pulses. They deliver enough energy to break up pigment without heating the surrounding tissue, and are preferred for tattoo removal and some types of pigmentation.
- Radiofrequency microneedling delivers energy through needles to a set depth. The surface is spared while a repair response starts in the deeper layer.
- Laser hair removal targets the pigment in the hair root. Because of the hair growth cycle, the interval between sessions is planned by body area.
How is the laser device chosen?
Three things decide the choice of device: what the problem is, how the skin reacts to the sun, and the season. Skin that is renewing is more sensitive to ultraviolet light, so some treatments are planned for autumn and winter.

Can laser make dark spots worse?
In some spots it can, which is why a diagnosis comes before treatment. Laser is used for some spots, while in others it can make the spot stronger. On tanned skin the energy setting is changed or the treatment is postponed. After every device treatment, sunscreen is used regularly, because renewing skin is more sensitive to the sun.
When can I go swimming after laser?
After fractional laser and radiofrequency microneedling, no swimming pool for three days. After laser lipolysis of the chin area, this period is five days. Sunscreen is used regularly after every device treatment. If you are in Antalya on holiday, these periods are discussed on the day of treatment, together with your travel plans.
Is laser treatment done in summer?
Some are done in summer, while some laser treatments are planned for autumn and winter. The reason is medical: skin in the renewal process is more sensitive to ultraviolet light, and ultraviolet intensity is lower in these months. Treatments that need several sessions can then be finished before spring. Which treatment is done in which month is decided at the consultation, according to the condition of your skin.
Can thread veins on the face be treated with laser?
Yes, procedures such as laser are used for thread veins that have become visible. Creams or apple cider vinegar do not close the vessel, although some creams may reduce redness alone. If the redness comes with pimple-like bumps, dry eyes or burning, an assessment for rosacea is needed. This assessment is done at a dermatology clinic.
Can I fly on the same day after laser?
Yes, flying on the same day after laser treatments is possible. The skin is sensitive after fractional laser, so if dental treatment is also planned on the same trip, it is more comfortable to have the laser after the dental treatment. After laser lipolysis of the chin, the doctor would like to see the patient again on the second day, if possible.
