There are two separate treatments on this page. What they share is that they work with energy; their targets and where they are used are different.
Laser lipolysis targets fat tissue. The energy is directed at fat cells. It is considered for limited, well-defined areas such as under the chin.
One point needs saying first: this is not a weight-loss method. It is a local treatment and does not change your overall weight. Suitability depends on the thickness of the tissue and the skin’s ability to tighten.
BBL laser (broadband light, by its medical name) uses a range of wavelengths instead of one. It targets uneven colour at the surface, sun spots and redness. It is also considered for vascular redness such as rosacea.
In both treatments, skin colour and the season are decisive. On tanned skin the energy setting changes or the treatment is postponed. Renewing skin is more sensitive to the sun, so planning is mostly for autumn and winter.
