After summer, skin carries three things at once: more pigment, a weakened barrier and water loss. The order matters.
- Assessment first. New spots, a rougher surface, increased sensitivity and dryness are noted. Existing moles are checked for any change.
- Repair next. While the barrier is weak, you do not go straight to strong ingredients. Moisturising and cutting back on irritating habits come first.
- The treatment plan last. Treatments that need pigment work and renewal are planned for autumn and winter, when ultraviolet strength is lower.
When this order is broken, even a well-meant skincare routine can make the skin more sensitive.
