The training has two stages. First comes six years of medical school. After that comes four years of specialist training in Skin and Venereal Diseases, entered through a specialty exam. The total time is at least ten years.
At the end of the specialist training, a specialist certificate is awarded after a thesis and an exam. The doctor’s title includes “Uzm. Dr.”, which means specialist doctor.
Is a beautician or skincare specialist a dermatologist? No. Being a beautician is vocational training and is not counted as medical training. Making a diagnosis, writing a prescription and carrying out a medical procedure are the doctor’s job.
